Pivotal Partnerships
Pivotal Partnerships is a people consultancy created by Tracey Clay to help organisations bring emotional intelligence, clarity, and confidence into how they hire, lead, and grow.
Established in 2019, Pivotal Partnerships was formed following more than 20 years’ experience across recruitment, talent management, leadership development, and senior management roles.
Having worked closely with founders, leaders, and in-house teams, Tracey saw how often people challenges were addressed in isolation, recruitment separate from leadership, leadership separate from culture. The consultancy was created to offer a more connected, practical, and human approach.
The work of Pivotal Partnerships is built around three interconnected pillars: People, Performance, and Growth. In practice, this means supporting organisations to attract the right people, develop capable and emotionally intelligent leaders, and build cultures that support sustainable performance.
Services include emotionally intelligent recruitment and selection, executive and leadership coaching, team development, training programmes, and fractional or interim people support. Pivotal Partnerships works directly with founders, leadership teams, and in-house people functions across sectors including professional services, education, engineering, manufacturing, and values-led organisations. All work is delivered with close senior involvement, ensuring continuity, depth of understanding, and solutions that reflect the real context of the organisation.
A defining feature of Pivotal Partnerships is the integration of emotional intelligence into all areas of work. Tracey is an accredited Emotional Intelligence Practitioner using the RocheMartin Emotional Capital framework, embedding EQ as a core capability rather than a “nice to have”. This supports stronger judgement, resilience, communication, and relationship skills, particularly in complex or high-pressure environments.
Recruitment is approached as a strategic and risk-aware process, not a transactional one.
Coaching and development work is practical, evidence-based, and grounded in real organisational challenges rather than theory alone. The emphasis is on capability, confidence, and decision-making that stands the test of time.
